It’s a new year and I bet everyone has some sort of “be healthier” resolution. Let’s be honest, I certainly do!
Today, I’m sharing some of my gym bag essentials. You never want to be in a position where you get all the way to the gym and forgot something. If you keep these items in your gym bag, you should be in good shape (mental, not physical – HA)!
If you change at the gym, don’t forget to pack an extra pair of socks. I’ve forgotten socks before and have had to workout in my calf-high Halloween socks. Plus, there’s nothing worse than wearing socks that aren’t made for running. Too thin = not enough support. Too thick = blisters. Make sure you pack an extra pair of running socks so you’re not caught with candy corn prints!
I always reapply deodorant before working out. No one wants to be that person…the one who smells before working out. Do everyone a favor and just reapply. Just do it!
Imagine this: you’re putting your hair up in a ponytail. You loop it around your hair once…twice….thr—SNAP. It breaks. Don’t you hate when that happens?! Now imagine it happening right before you walk into the gym. UGH! Keep a few extra hair ties in your gym bag for instances like this.
I have to chew gum when working out. Am I weird? Probably because I’m breathing in and out of my mouth and my throat gets dry. Anyways, I always keep a pack of sugar-free gum in my bag and pop a piece in before hitting the treadmill.
Face wipes / Makeup remover
You should never workout with makeup on. It’s really bad for your skin and causes breakouts. I use Neutrogena’s Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. Pack them in your gym bag so you can wipe off your face before and after your workout.
Even though I have long hair, I have little fuzzies along my hairline…which absorb sweat, get curly, and stick straight up. I wear a headband for my workout to prevent my hair from going crazy. Keep an extra one in your bag just in case you forget to put one on before you leave the house.
Next time you head to the gym, make sure you pack these gym bag essentials.
