I just got back from a long weekend in Fort Collins, CO. My best friend, Kate, had a baby in February and I (finally) made it out there to meet her!
Isn’t she cute?! She looks like a mini Kate…red hair and all!
I didn’t have any expectations for the weekend…other than not working. Also, I really wanted to be helpful with the baby. Most of my friends have kids, so I’ve been through the “first time mom” thing a couple of times. I wanted to help out and give Kate some flexibility to relax.
We stopped by the Horse & Dragon Brewing Company on Saturday. Kate’s husband, Nate, is a big fan of their Sad Panda Coffee Stout. I loved the open rafters and the natural wood seating!
We wanted to go for a hike but the foothills got 1-2ft of snow, so we opted for a bike ride on Sunday. Evie was a good sport — all bundled up and strapped in.
After we got back, it was time to bottle Kate’s homebrew. I’m not a drinker, but the whole process of making and bottling beer looks fun. Maybe Bobby will want to brew his own beer one day 😉
The weekend was short, but much needed. I’m planning to go back to Colorado in February for Evie’s 1st birthday. I’m thinking about staying a little longer and heading into the mountains for snowshoeing. Any recommendations on things to do/see in February?
