I’ve made it down to #7 on my Christmas Bucket List: Watch Christmas Movies.
I’ve been able to squeeze in a few movies over the past few weeks. Especially after losing my voice and having to lay around last weekend. I love snuggling up on the couch with some hot cocoa, a Christmas candle burning, and a big fuzzy blanket to watch a Christmas movie.
There are a few movies that rise above as my favorites: Elf, The Santa Clause, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and Home Alone.
This is my favorite Christmas movie! I’ve probably watched Elf 5 times this month. Freeform (formerly ABC Family) plays Elf almost every night, so lucky me. Will Ferrel is absolutely hilarious and boasts genuine joy in holiday spirit.
My brother and I watched this movie a lot when we were little. Tim Allen was the quintessential dad in the mid-90s. The Santa Clause heightened Christmas magic. It answered all of my questions about fireplaces, flying reindeer, and Santa’s workshop.
I didn’t see this movie until after college. Boy, was I was missing out! The Griswold Family is priceless. My favorite scene is when Aunt Bethany says “Grace”. Gets me every time!
As a kid, I wished I had the wits, and freedom, of Kevin (Macaulay Culkin). Clearly he had an IQ over 140. How could any 10-year-old out smart two burglars?
There are still a few Christmas movies that I’ve never seen. I’ve never seen Miracle on 34th Street or It’s A Wonderful Life. I know! I know! I need to plan a date night with Bobby and knock them out.
