Last month I signed up and received my first Birchbox. I’ve been in a skincare rut, so what better way to sample products than a monthly sampler? I received my 2nd Birchbox a few weeks ago and have finally used all of the products enough to be able to give an honest review. Here’s what I got in my February 2018 Birchbox:
OUAI Leave-In Conditioner
I must say, I was REALLY excited to try this product! I’ve seen a lot of beauty bloggers recommend OUAI so I couldn’t wait to see what the hype was all about. Plus, my hair is in dire need of conditioning (my hair is really dry and damaged). This spray-in conditioner had a pretty heavy fragrance. While I loved how my hair felt, I couldn’t get over the perfume.
MAC Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara
I’m pretty loyal to Too Faced’s Better Than Sex mascara, but I’m always willing to try new mascaras! This MAC mascara really made my lashes super long, but I didn’t get the volume that I prefer. My lashes are pretty long and dark, so I like mascaras that give me volume. I think it would be great for a “natural” makeup day, but I’d likely not wear any mascara.
DOUCCE Luscious Lip Stain in Steaming Red
Just like mascara, I’m always willing to try a new lip product. I put on this lip stain without reading the tube or instructions. The color was a little too dark, so I went to wipe it off but it didn’t come off! Then, I realized it was a lip stain. It was a Sunday and I was planning to run errands so I just left it on. Throughout the day the color stayed (bonus if you like the color), but it was really drying. I had to keep applying lip balm.
R + Co Park Ave Blow Out Balm
Two hair products in my box?! I must be lucky! I loved how the OUAI Leave-In Conditioner made my hair feel, so I was curious about the R+Co blow out balm. First, the scent was better than OUAI, but only slightly. If OUAI was a strong perfume, then R+Co was a light fragrance. Other than that, I didn’t notice much of a difference in my hair texture or volume. If I had to choose, I’d deal with OUAI.
Daily Concepts Your Facal Micro Scrubber
Last but not least, I tried this cool facial scrubber. At first, I thought it included a cleanser. I got it wet and started washing my face, but quickly realized no soap. HA! Silly me! So I added a drop of my daily cleanser and started scrubbing my face. OUCH! It felt like a was washing my face with velcro. I thought it might soften after a few uses, but it didn’t so I threw it away.
Have you tried any of these products? Let me know what you think!

Hey Lauren! I wonder if any of your monthly Birch Box will contain organic products.
They do! They provide a card with details about each product (ingredients, how-to, etc). Organic products are becoming more popular, so I sure Birchbox will start sharing more.
