After two back-to-back travel weekends, this weekend was meant to be relaxing — and thank God! Last week was busy at work and I, unfortunately, spent time in the evenings doing more work, at the gym (to get my mind off things), or asleep! HA! Bobby enjoyed having alone time to go to the gym or play on the computer. By Friday, I was needed some veg-out time in front of the TV.
On Saturday we ventured to the State Farmer’s Market to check out the Craft Fair. There were probably 2-3 dozen vendors, from wood craft to pottery, stained glass to jewelry. It was a pretty cool event, but I thought it would be bigger (I’m still adjusting to living in a “small” city…every city feels small compared to DC). We walked around for about 30-45 mins and then left. Empty handed, too.
Saturday night we had our friends Jessica and Conrad over for dinner. Bobby made seared chicken with mashed potatoes and kale (one of the Blue Apron recipes we tried back in January). It was SO good! Shortly after we jumped right into a game of Exploding Kittens. I learned to play this game right before we moved to Raleigh. It’s easy to learn, half luck…half strategy, and usually takes less than 15 mins per game. If you haven’t played, you can pick up a box at Target or Amazon.
On Sunday, I spent the first half of the day catching up on Grey’s Anatomy. Bobby doesn’t particularly watch the show, but he gets sucked into the storyline. He calls it “getting grey’ed”. In the past, it has happened to our roommates. They’ll be walking to the kitchen to get a glass of water and see some car crash scene. Before you know it, it’s been 45 minutes and you now know who’s slept with who.
I finally peeled myself away around noon and went to the mall. I was on a mission to find the perfect sweater….and I found a TON! If you follow my Instagram, you got to see the selection. I’ll do a full review later this week. Stay tuned!
Hope you guys had a great weekend, too! I’ve got a lot of posts scheduled! Can’t wait to hear what you think.
